How do faculty members get access to Turnitin?

Answer

Turnitin software takes written assignments and compares them with Internet resources, books, articles, as well as Turnitin's database of student papers. Turnitin can help students improve their writing, by noting issues with paraphrasing  or identifying where the student needs to properly quote or where they might have missed a citation.

Any faculty member can request access to Turnitin, which can be used in Brightspace courses.*Note that Turnitin works best for writing assignments.

To request access:

  1. Fill out the Turnitin and Academic Integrity Course form to request access
  2. Upon approval, complete the Turnitin Faculty Mini Course. Once this is completed Turnitin will be added to the courses.
