What is the "check for full-text" button in a library database?

Answer

The "check for full-text" button looks like this:

It means that the entire article (or PDF) is not available in the database you are searching.

When you click on the button one of two things will happen:

1. You will be taken to the full-text article in another database.

OR

2. You will be able to request this article from another library (this is free!). To do that:

  • First, you will need to click "Sign in." Sign in using your Sask Polytech credentials (username and password)

  • Click "Request From Another Library"

  • The form should autofill with the article information but if you notice anything missing, feel free to add it in. Importantly, include your Sask Polytech email down at the bottom of the form. When you are happy with the form, click "SEND REQUEST"

  • Article requests are usually filled pretty quickly by lending libraries but may take up to 2-3 days. The article will be sent to your Sask Polytech email!
  • If the form does not work for whatever reason, you can still request an article here
